Couple of takeaways: Trevor's low 3/4 arm slot works so well with so much movement. He was painting tonite. We could have had Gallo for $1.8M more than Tellez. Will be worth seeing who has the better season. Nats also gave a yr 2 option which BC seems to avoid. BRey airmailed Tellez on throw home.....he has limited innings in RF but that's no excuse. It was nice seeing Jack foil the LH pitching move and go deep!......nice to mess with the analytics there. Someone needs to get batting gloves on Hank (that would be Shelton) in these wet and cold games. Mitch?........no comment.
When 6 of the 9 batters do not show up in the hit column, the chance of even competing to win is greatly depreciated. MAT was productive, but still had 3 K's; Cruz, Reynolds, Hayes, 'Cutch 15 AB, 8 K against the Nats?
My favorite moment this game was the ground ball to third where the fielder hurried his throw when Henry was busting it down the line. (or maybe the ball was wet and it slipped) Either way those little things add up during the season.
He looked horrible to me aside from one AB where he pumped a few 95-96 mph heaters by a guy. Cutter was just hung up all night and getting pounded at 92 mph middle middle.
I almost posted before the game that the Pirates will make 6-0. Williams is not very good, after all. Then I thought that that post would jinx him... I guess the thought was enough to give the MOJO to the Nats.
I wanna be mad, but, it just wasn't in the cards. I'd be curious to see the ump scorecard, but truthfully, a lot of the calls they were getting upset about were hitting the strike zone. They were dotting spots.
All that said, here comes a 9th inning rally started with a Rowdy bomb

I freaking love the way hank plays the game
Not going to win many games with four hits. Get em tomorrow!
I didn’t see much of the game, did Keller look as bad as his line suggests?
Yes. His cutter didn’t move again and was all over the map and got pounded. He looked like ASB Keller 🤮

I would say we havent seen anything close to the TOR mitch we had at several points last year

Pirates batters gonna go into clubhouse thinking, "That damn ump was missing so many, oh. Those were actual strikes".
I'm sad. But we got another 69 of those on the way to our 92-70 season
Nice. But also i refuse to believe that 161-1 is not in play
Alright lets take that and use it boys
Oof. Rowdy got a call to live another day, and watches that one
Their pitching graphic is super odd, shows opp avg as 2.40 and no ERA... wonder if that label is just wrong?
Fleming is the left handed version of Trevor Williams

Unfortunately, they have been locating well and avoiding the middle of the zone all night
Some perfect pitches.
Message to the home plate umpire: Fuck you.
You gotta send that to the third base umpire, way too close for the home plate umpire to ring him up
And the ump was having a good game but that call is a big blemish.
Bad Keller 😧
I think Block just said that Keller allowed a career worst 6 extra-base hits tonight:
Jack against a lefty!!!!!
Jack off the lefty! BOOM
