Another blown gem of a start. Tough loss, but can still win series with Mitch on the bump tomorrow.

Why Jack instead of Rowdy straight up for Joe?

Shelton has only seen 2 regular season homeruns by Tellez in a pirate uniform, he has seen a lot more Suwinski homeruns in a pirate uniform. Shelton goes with the numbers he has seen.

Seriously I don't know, I'd go with the hot bat (Tellez) but I don't know if Suwinski has a good history off the pitcher.

Rowdy after hitting 35 homers 2 years ago, then not being able to hit .220 the last 2 seasons....who would have thought he would be the singles hitter he has turned into the last 10 days or so. That all makes the signing even tougher to figure out.

Dias had allowed only 1 HR. I think you try and put a couple hits together and try to score tying run. But tough task w Dias.

Pinch hitting for your #3 hitter with a guy batting .175? Only the Pirates.

Shelton's analytics are which hitter is slumping worse.....I'll give him a shot.

Hate to see Falter take the L on this......"bail" him out Rowdy!

Wouldn't a smart manager keep Delay in the game, then PH for him, and only then insert Grandal into the lineup?

Your point? That's elementary managing.

Shalin Polanco with a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th when they were down 5-2. Just under 110 mph off the bat

Send him to Pittsburgh. We need a hitter.

I thought Steer had another…

PNC’s left field has to be the easiest in baseball to rob homers. Reminds me of being 13-14 dunking on 7’ hoops.

Expand full comment

I think RF in Fenway is still easier. You can fall over it.

Expand full comment

Should’ve emphasized left field. You could be sitting in a chair, reach up and rob a homer in front of the pesky pole

Man, the days of the cookie cutter stadiums…10’ high from pole to pole and it took an extraordinary athlete like Otis Nixon to break my heart robbing Slyke.
