Overview
Forrester put up consistently good numbers in his three years at Oregon State, with OPS figures of .910, .978 and 1.007. His main skills are contact ability and a very good eye at the plate, which led to a lot of walks in college. He may not hit for very much power, which isn’t a plus for a corner infielder. He played first base almost exclusively in college, but the Pirates apparently plan to try him at third. Baseball America ranked him 159th among draft prospects, MLB Pipeline 116th. He signed for a little more than $200,000 less than the $990,300 slot value.

Forrester got into six games with Bradenton, then went on the injured list. Before getting hurt, he went 5-for-18 with ten walks.
