Overview
Ramirez was one of the Pirates’ top signings in the 2023-24 signing period. He’s touched the mid-90s and still has projection left. He also throws a change, and either a slider or a curve, depending on your source.
2024
Ramirez pitched mostly as a starter in his DSL debut and did well for a 17-year-old. He gave up 25 hits in 34 innings and struck out 32. Control was a problem, as he walked 29. He improved steadily, as his monthly opponents’ OPS, from June through August, was .715, .617 and .459.
