Overview
Dipre originally signed as an infielder, but now he appears to be an outfielder. He’s shown some hitting ability, but he lost one season to the pandemic and another to injury.
2020-24
Dipre’s first season was lost to the pandemic and he played only sparingly in 2021. He spent the majority of his time as DH, otherwise playing second and one game at third. In 2022, still in the DSL, the Pirates moved him to the outfield and he was one of the better hitters on a good-hitting team. He batted 276/359/437 and finished fifth in the league in doubles.
Dipre missed the entire 2023 season with an injury. He returned in 2024 and was the Pirates’ best hitter at the level, but by then he was 21 in a league where the average age is under 18. Dipre hit 301/441/579 and finished fifth in the league with eight home runs. He played in the outfield corners, with a couple games at first.
