Overview
Bimbi pitched for two years at Wabash Valley Community College, then as a junior for Tennessee before going to Western Kentucky as a senior. He pitched in relief in 2023 and as a starter in 2024. In his senior year he put up a high K rate, 11.7 per nine innings, but he got hit around some and gave up a home run every six innings. His ERA was 6.09. As a prep pitcher he threw the standard four pitches, with his fastball in the upper-80s. A Rapsodo clip had Bimbi throwing 93 mph recently. MLB Pipeline did not have him ranked among their top 250 draft prospects, nor Baseball America among their top 500. He signed near the deadline for $30,000 above the slot amount.
2024
Bimbi threw four innings for Bradenton near the end of the 2024 season. They didn’t go well, as he walked seven and allowed six earned runs.
