Overview

Hartle was highly regarded as a prep prospect, but his commitment to Wake Forest kept him from being drafted. After his sophomore year, he was considered a potential first-round pick, but a very disappointing junior year dropped him down the rankings. His ERA went from 2.81 to 5.79, and his other numbers regressed significantly as well. Still, Baseball America and MLB Pipeline ranked him 75th and 70th, respectively. His fastball sits at 90 mph, but plays up due to the angle and movement. His best pitch is a very high-spin slider, and he also has an effective cutter and solid change, assuming he rebounds. His control is good.

2024

Hartle made one appearance for Bradenton at the end of the 2024 season and it didn’t go well. He allowed five hits and four runs, three earned, in an inning and two-thirds.
