Overview
Quintanilla, when he signed, had good command of his pitches. The hope is that he’ll add some muscle.
2020-23
After the pandemic season, Quintanilla pitched only a little in his 2021 DSL debut, all in relief. He had an ERA of 0.90 and K/9 of 10.8, but he also had a 1.40 WHIP and 6.3 BB/9. He returned to the DSL in 2022 and started eight of his ten games. He got the walks way down and opponents batted just .210 against him, and he still fanned 10.5 per nine.
Quintanilla pitched in the FCL in 2023, all in relief but usually two innings. He wasn’t easy to hit, but he walked 6.5 per nine and ended up with an ERA of 5.13. Home runs were a problem, which is unusual for the FCL. He gave up seven in 33.1 IP.
