Overview
The Pirates signed Rodriguez just before the 2022 DSL season. He has decent velocity now and his slider could become a plus pitch. He’s developing a change. Through two years, though, he’s hardly pitched at all.
2022-24
In his first season, Rodriguez made just two appearances, totaling two and a third innings. He was suspended for the rest of the season, for unknown reasons. In 2023, he missed the entire season with an unknown injury. He appeared in relief eight times in 2024 and put up better numbers than his 4.73 ERA indicates: 1.28 WHIP, 6.1 BB/9 and 10.8 K/9.
