I dont get to see duran pitch often, but he looked fucking filthy tonight. A few inside out spray hits, but i dont know how anyone could barrel him up other than purely guessing right
The twins feel like a very good short pitching staff team to me. Their pen is nasty and have a few very solid starters, might win a lot of games scoring 3 or less this postseason
Everything I was reading was the Twins/Blue Jays was supposed to be low scoring so I bet
- Under 4 runs through 5 innings
- both Berrios and Gray over 4.5 K (this one I'm the least confident about)
Then I also did under 5.5 strikeouts for Freddy Peralta. Milwaukee gonna be desperate, so if he struggles at all it'll probably be a quick hook. Plus Arizona pretty strong contact wise against righties
It’s 7-0 in the seventh now. Unbelievable. One national baseball writer —- Jeff Passan? —- picked the Rays to go to the World Series. Now, barring a miracle, they are out on Day 2 of the playoffs after winning 99 games.
One takeaway from yesterday was the importance of sound team defense in the playoffs. Many of these games are close and are decided by a few key outs. Both the Rangers and the D-backs used good defense to stop rallies that could have gotten out of control and changed those games. I really wish the Pirates would place more emphasis on defense at positions other than 3B and C.
I would say they don't have a visible weakness unless it's a below average fielder that knocks the cover off the ball or an average hitter that is an excellent fielder and they can hide their weaker skill.
I think the Pirates should maybe try to sign Adalbero Mondesi in the off-season too. He is so injury prone and coming off a torn ACL, which makes him a high risk, but also probably a very cheap sign. They could probably get him for 2.5 million for year 1 with a team option for 6 or so year two. If he could stay healthy and if he is fully recovered from his ACL, he is a top-notch SS with a legitimate bat. At the very least, he would be a major upgrade at utility infielder if Triolo is going to start at 2B or SS.
Everyone wants to be the Rays until it’s October.
Unless some huge comeback by the Marlins, every single wild card series ends in a sweep lol.
Perfect 3/3 on bets tonight after Peralta got pulled there. Let’s go

The 98 mph ‘splinker’ is disgusting lol
And the fact that its 4-5mph slowre than his 4seam is insane. Plus upper 80s breaking ball wtf
Santana diving head first into the netting was incredible
my pipe dream of getting Jordan Montgomery this offseason gets more unrealistic lol
Brewers show some life early.
Blue Jays losing faith in Vlad Jr
Steve Sanders and BC need to be biying low and dealing with the Jays this winter
Thomas Hatch is more their speed.

Sonny Gray + Jose Berrios Over 4.5 K - check mark on both. Good start to the day

Still no outs and bases still loaded, I think my under 4 runs prop is in danger
3 for Gray through 3 innings. 2 for Berrios coming out for his third inning.
Knocking on all of the wood, but i think these are both very smart and solid bets AM
The runs through 5 definitely and Berrios just struck out the side, so he's at 5. so I just need Gray to two more and I'm solid.
Will just help fund even more degeneracy!
Basically lol
Rangers had a big inning, might the rays go from an all-time level team in the first few months to out of the playoffs after two games?

Two years in a row their offense has just hit a complete wall in the wild card too.

I think about this kind every time the discussion of what "type" of team wins in the playoffs.
And the answer seems inarguably to be teams that do EVERYTHING really, really well. Tough game!

An elite centerfielder would really help the team limit runs, I think we talked about this before lol.

Wouldn't mind Mondesi on a contract like that.
Nasty nate looking solid early even without his usual velo
"My shit doesn't work in the playoffs"
Woot woot playoff thread!
