I think we're all devastated over the Mets losing their starting catcher for a couple months. Waiting to hear from bmac so we know what his sources are hearing.
15 games into ST with a 9-6 record, and now only 14 games before leaving camp for Miami to open the season with 4 games against the Marlins. The Pitching looks very good from No. 1 thru No. 13. Hitting is still a concern.
C/OF - Leading the hitters in ST are Catchers Joey Bart 1.230 OPS and Endy Rodriguez 1.099 OPS - Catching is very strong. The OF is also very strong with Jack Suwinski 1.009 OPS, Oneil Cruz .877 OPS, Bryan Reynolds .681 OPS, and Tommy Pham .646 OPS. This promises to be another strength of the team with Reynolds 4 straight years of 20+ HR's, Cruz 2 years of 20+ HR, Suwinski with one year of 20+ HR and Pham who has a history of 10-15 HR/yr.
DH/UT/IF - Cutch is the DH coming off a 20 HR season in 2024. May also see Bart, Endy, Suwinski also at DH. Triolo is the returning MLB Gold Glove Winner for Utility Players, and I expect his bat will be better this year. The Infield is a mystery. Can Ke'Bryan Hayes come back to 2023 form? Can IKF find the bat he misplaced while packing to come to the Pirates? If not, Peguero or Triolo. At 2B it's a coin flip for me. Nick Gonzales was very inconsistent last year and finished with a .709 OPS. Could get competition for the job from Nick Yorke or Liover Peguero. At 1B we hope to see Spencer Horwitz start to swing the bat this week, but will probably not be ready until possibly the first or second week of April. Until then, we may see Yorke, Billy Cook, or Endy at 1B.
I just loathe whoever's more deserving roster spot Adam Frazier is going to take.
Adam Frazier 1B
. . . like the footsteps of doom . . . .
The only way to make it all worse, so I'm sure we'll see it.
Kinda slow here. Did everyone forget to move their clocks up?

Carter Bins and two donuts for Mark Vientos.
