I know that nobody will buy the cow if you give away the milk for free, but I - as a former BP subscriber - would be much more interested in BP content if the paywalled stuff was at least teased.
Ehhh, it’s just a different opinion. I think with any farm system you’re going to get opinions that appear odd. Also, with Jebb, for better or worse, new guys almost always seem overrated by prospect outlets. Cause they haven’t failed yet!
Should read: the further into rankings of systems, the odder the rankings will seem. Because I think you’re looking at smaller features that separate the players.
It gets weirder in the 10-20 range. Enmanuel Terrero (15) and Garret Forrester (16) ahead of Lonnie White (17). Ryan Harbin (??) at 18. Jackson Wolf at 19.
As far as prospects rankings BP has decided to be witty vice new or accurate. Josh Norris at BA seems to at least make some phone calls (probably to Carlos Callazo and Mayo).
Longenhangen Mayo and Tim Williams/P2 are the only ones I ever cared about.
MLBTR had him projected at $2.8 mil, so very close to the $2.275 agreed to by the parties. If the rehab goes as scheduled he will be getting game ready right before the AS Break, and Burrows could be just another few weeks later, in early August. If Braxton Ashcraft gets off to a good start in 2024, he could also be ready to join the Rotation.
I personally think they need to slow play the promotions of Burrows and Ashcraft. If we are lucky enough to be in a playoff hunt then disregard this. First, until I hear otherwise(or they fail) I want them to be developed as starters as that brings much more value IMO and both have that potential. Burrows never conquered AAA so he needs to get on the hill, build up innings, and have success (first year back can be rough). Ashcraft averaged less then 3 innings a start and only pitched 8 games in AA. He needs to be pushed on innings and continue to show success. It is much easier to manage innings (starting or late in year bullpen) in the minors IMO because you aren't dealing with options for these two or who they may replace. Net: They both have much to prove but could still be key members down the road so let's not rush them. I'm optimistic but realistic as well.
I imagine there was still some remnants of recovery, but if he can bring what he showed last year into this year and capable of holding his stuff over 5+ innings. Ohhhhhhh, buddy. I'm super excited.
LOL reports that Cherington tried to sign Imanaga: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/pirates-rumors-shota-imanaga-interest-free-agent.html

Names but not reports.
I think is fair to say that our farm system is top heavy and after the top 3-5 is anybody’s preference.
Mitch jebb at #9 immediately makes me want to throw that list out
How dare you diss the next Luis Arraez...with plus speed!

Hmmmm that sounds like quite the list

Ashcraft is most certainly a wild card, if not an Ace in the hole, for Pirates organization. His stuff last year just looked flat nasty.
He pitched like 50 innings last year, can’t see him being a factor this year.

You think he will be better than his brother?
Presuming it all comes together, specifically his stamina, yes I believe he could be much better than his (not) brother.
Wait wait graham and braxton arent related? Im shook, just assumed that was true lol
Him in the ML bullpen to limit innings late in the season could be a lot of fun.
