sources saying KeBryan for Lux

No sources are really saying that. 7 million dollar a year injury prone player. Nah

The Pirates would be nuts to turn that down. Skeptical the Dodgers are ok with that though.

cheaper than Arenado

Interesting (and overpriced) signing of Edman.

Coming on the heels of AM's article on Nicky G., Edman is a clone of Nick IMO. So there is either value to hold onto Nicky G. or this is just the Dodgers way of offering WS bonuses. Or both are probably true.

Edman has a much longer track record and can also play CF (iirc). Crazy that their utility player would be our highest priced player but such is life as a pirates fan i suppose

Yes has versatility that Nicky doesn't have (yet). So if he has elite speed to first base, could he also play some OF. Might be worth trying in Spring Training.

He has versatility and is really good defensively. Neither of which is true for Nick. They’re not comparable.

My comp was offensively similar bats. Yes they are different players defensively.

But every post I make this offseason is going to be bat-related. In order to compete, we have to score more runs.

"Instead, Sasaki's decision will likely depend on which team he thinks can help him have the best career in MLB. That could mean which team is most likely to develop him into an ace or most likely to win a World Series, or it could be the team that can provide the most comfortable situation in the locker room and community or something else. Agree, and think he would prefer LA with the Dodgers, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Yeah I feel like a lot of those guys like to stay on the west coast if they can for obvious reasons. Unfortunately puts us at a disadvantage for the top guys.

Pirates and top guys😆😆😆. LMAO

Maybe top guys wasn’t the word to use, but rather guys who have options to play elsewhere for a similar salary to what we’d offer?

I agree with you Bucsfan. No one who is good wants to play with our clown show( Pirates). And I hate saying that.

We have a track record of developing pitchers very well

The Red's have done an excellent job of drafting and developing a strong group of Starting Pitchers - Hunter Greene 2017, Nick Lodolo 2019, Andrew Abbott 2021, Rhett Lowder in 2023, and Chase Burns in 2024. They also tend to trade and spend on proven talent to try to get better at the plate.
