Overview

Ress was a lower profile signing in the 2019-20 signing class. He hasn’t made a lot of progress, and also lost seasons to the pandemic and to an injury.

2020-23

Ress didn’t pitch in 2020, then pitched mainly in long relief stints in the DSL in 2021. He got good results, although the walk and K rates were mediocre.  He had help from a low BABIP of .232. In 2022, Ress had a very different season.  In the same number of innings, he went from allowing 24 hits, one home run and 17 walks to 41 hits, six home runs and 20 walks.  He struggled against both right- and left-handed hitters, allowing them an OPS fo .873 and .891, respectively. Ress missed all of the 2023 season due to injury.
