You listed Contreras, Ortiz, Priester, Peguero, and Gonzales as possibly not making it. Ortiz, Priester, and Peguero will be in the Pirate Org somewhere. Contreras was a total mystery last year - unless he comes back with velocity and command, he will probably be sent to AAA to see if he can work out the kinks.
Nick Gonzales has had a decent run with the Pirates, but Peguero, Triolo, and Bae are second basemen as well as multi-positional players. Bae has the edge over Gonzales in that he is a damn good CF, 2B, and stole 20+ bases in 2023. Triolo is a Plus Fielder at 3B, 2B, and 1B and posted a slash of .298/.388/.398/.786 OPS for the Pirates. Peguero is still only 22 and is our best MI prospect who can hit for power. He could showout in ST and be the 2B to Oneil Cruz at SS to start the season. Bae would start in CF and Triolo be the Utility IF.
Roansy turns 24 this November which is still young for a guy attempting to be a major league pitcher. He came over in the trade with great promise and very good results early and his subsequent decline can only be attributed to a couple of things. I don't have a ton of faith in the Pirates pitching philosophy overall and especially when they get to Pittsburgh. Sometimes it seems like the Pirates coaching staff gets their analytics from the My Pillow guy!

Probably be the best Mets hire at manager in a long time. I think the Phillies manager Thomson is probably the best manager in baseball right now. It seems like he got lucky in game 4 when he brought his late inning guys Alvarado and Kimbrel in with almost catastrophic results and it ended up working out. But he still had a game in hand even if it did blow up because it wasn't an elimination game for him. So maybe there was a method to his madness.
Thanks for this, Wilbur. I wish Fangraphs still got to their prospect coverage. I'd love to see the FV grades on the AAA/AA rotations. I'll take a guess at it:
I bet they'll at least try Davis catching for 50 games. They definitely need to pick a lane on his defensive home, though. They look like bumbling idiots.
If they were going to do that, late this year was the time to do it. But, yeah, the simplest way to guess what they're going to do is figure out the stupidest approach.

He'll only be in the AAA if he clears waivers, since he's out of options

GoFundMe page to bring Statcast to Blair County Ballpark for that Altoona rotation. Damn near every watchable arm in the system!
Wow, Woodruff out until late next year at best. Huge blow to the Brewzzz.
And for anybody who's wondering, Chris Owings is now a FA.
That just lowered the chance of Counsil coming back to manage.
Counsell going to get paid
Yep
mets or angels
Mets. They've been talking about it on MLB since Stearns was hired.

Skenes 60
Chandler 50
Jones 50
Solometo 45+
Harrington 45
Ashcraft 45
Chen 45
and a bunch of 40+s and 40s from there
Longenhagen says his updates are continual now for whatever that's worth.
You're just about right on with all those.
Delay and Bins in Indy?
Delay will be in Pgh. Davis is never catching for the Pirates.
Skenes used to be a catcher not so long ago
Let tank pitch

I totally agree. Feckless morons.
I'm guessing Che Cheng will start the year in AA.
Alika, Gonzales and Peguero prob should be in AAA to start the year.
Gutierrez and Bins will prob be in AAA
BP arms like Selby, Hernandez, Stratton, Bido will probably be in AAA
Rotation will probably be something like Priester, Wolf, Skenes, Jones and Sullivan.
that is the Triolo at second base and acquire a first baseman scenario
Boy that AA starting rotation looks tasty! Hopefully, Burrows will be a strong addition to the AAA rotation as well.
I probably should have put Burrows in AAA, along with Skenes, whom I forgot. No way Burrows opens in the bigs.
I guess Solo and/or Ashcraft could go to AAA, but I couldn't resist putting that group together.
Do you see them keeping either or both of Head/ Siani? Not advocating for either.
Yeah, neither is eligible for free agency until 2025.
Skenes in majors? Bold. I like it lol
Oops, he was supposed to be in AAA.
Who’s Skenes?
Guy who throws hard now, but they're working on getting him down to 89 or so.
