Priester gives me more of a Brubaker type vibe. He'll have good games, then some bad ones. Just kinda hoping for more good than bad. But if something clicks for him, maybe Mitch Keller 2.0? He already throws five pitches, and learning to use them faster than Mitch did, so I guess we never know.
I would love for Keller to get into his ear about going to Tread this offseason. I really feel like he can see a spike in velocity just like Keller and Solometo did.
Tbh, I am not high on Priester, but if he can get to a #3 SP, we’ll be okay. Maybe, with fingers crossed, maybe we’ll have Keller, Skenes, Oviedo, Priester and ????? Pitching regularly AND well.
I think they would be fine if he was just a 4/5. Keller and Skenes plus they still have Jones, Harrington, Solometo all working their way up. Someone else can still come out of no where and I'm sure they'll dip into free agency here and there.
I guess that's going to be the biggest difference maker with Paul Skenes. Even if the shape isn't great on it, the high velo/command will help offset that, or at least that's the hope
Bert Blyleven’s best pitch was a curveball. He could get it over anytime anywhere. If Priester even approaches that level, we’ll have a good one.
Btw, Oviedo looks good on and off. Once he learns how to pitch without his best stuff, he’ll be a top SP, imo.

Now…..about that offense, lol.
