Overview
After Irwin Ramirez, Navarro was probably the top pitcher in the Pirates’ 2024 international signing class. When he signed, his fastball had gotten as high as 95 mph. By 2025, the pitch was sitting at 93-94 mph with a great deal of sink, and it was getting a lot of swings and misses. Ramirez also throws a slider, with a change that’s a work in progress.
2024
Ramirez showed his stuff in his DSL debut, posting a 3.38 ERA while allowing just 13 hits and fanning 37 in 24 innings. Control was a problem, as he walked 21.
