Overview
De Paula is a bat-first outfielder who could develop good power. He plays strictly in the outfield corners.
2020-23
After missing 2020 due to the pandemic, De Paula played only briefly in his debut, getting 32 ABs. He saw more time at first than anywhere else, but otherwise played the outfield corners. He returned to the DSL in 2022 and showed good power, but he hit only .190 and his walk and K rates were very bad. He went back for a third season in 2023 and got only 82 plate appearances, partly due to a short stay on the injured list. He struck out less, but he batted only .200 with no power.
