Overview
The Pirates signed Vizcaya as a potential five-tool center fielder, with plus speed and arm, and the potential to hit for power. Reports from the time the Pirates signed him indicated that he had taken up switch-hitting. MiLB.com, which makes frequent errors, lists him as a right-handed hitter.
2021-23
Vizcaya hit passably in his debut, with a high walk rate and some power. He played mostly in right and some in left. He went back to the DSL in 2022 and didn’t make much progress in his second DSL season. His power declined, while his walk and K rates stayed about the same. He mostly played in center.
Vizcaya went to the DSL for a third season in 2023. This time his power increased, while everything else stayed largely the same. He hit 225/348/372 while playing all three outfield positions.
