Dude, watch that second dinger from Termar. The way his lower body adjusts mid-swing to barrel up the break - from a big league lefty! - is plus hit tool shit.
There might be one or two bats *on the big club* that don't either swing over that pitch or roll it to the right side.
Like you said earlier, if he has stamina to go 6 or 7 innings he has mid rotation stuff or better. I like pitchers that know where their pitches are going.
Both of TJ's HRs were off of major league relievers, right? Of course, they're major league relievers trying to get ready for games more than a month from now.
If it works, try it on more players. I hope we don't rush Termarr because of what you mentioned yesterday. He is still figuring things out, but the potential is pretty high.
The kid is just that good - more than happy with Cruz, Peguero, Triolo, and TJ possibly as early as 2025. We are strong up the middle, except for the ridiculously obvious gap in CF. All this pitching, and talented position players, but still looking for a CF???
Welcome to Termarrland. The talent is very real, but he can be frustrating. But, heck, he won't be 20 for another 3 months. By then he should be in AA.
Possibly confirmation bias but to my eye he's already toned down the approach a bit from his more egregious periods last year. I'm usually quick to jump on dudes but it's been odd to me how quickly people have seemed to give up on his hit tool. Kid can still move the barrel around better than any number of big strikeout teens that seem to float on potential for years.
Yeah I had Temarr hitting both the 1st and 2nd HRs of ST in the same game…..If I’m lying May lightning hit my mother….. Good luck Mom! ( credit to Joe Isuzu)
I gotta believe that "maybe" Haines told him to sit on first pitch offspeed after he took that FB deep. Somebody guessed right, or was it just really good reaction by Termarr?
I'm not gonna get too uppity about it, as it's 3 games in early spring. But, 31 K's to 6 BB's is not really what you want to see, kicking things off, when you're questioning their ability to do the opposite of that.
Pitchers are generally way ahead of hitters in February…this is league wide. Termarr adjusting after one game vs big league arms is incredibly encouraging
The minor things I'll be paying attention to are things like Nicky G still looking like he's never seen a curveball, and now that I've seen it, what the hell is going on with Gorski's pre-swing left lift lol

I'M SO IN.
That was my instant thought too lol
"ohhhhh, there's that plus hit tool"
Man check our Ashcraft's zone map:

I'm so in.
That first pitch curve to Justin Turner was a beauty. Took some bawls too

Peralta’s is like a shotgun blast.

Both guys with career appearances in the 100s! No matter what the situation I find that to be pretty damn impressive
Geezus. I should talk sh*t on Termarr more often.

I want to believe . . . .
Was that a typo.....AAA? !!

In the end, it’s gotta help that he almost never swings at anything out of the zone. I think literally the least of anybody in the minors.

That's Termahrhr.
If he’s not the starting 2b on opening day, I will cut off all of my hair. #imbold #STgamescount.
Says you are bold but are you also bald?
That too!!!!😂
Soon to be if not already lol
Well at least Triolo is hitting and Termar can crush a ball on occasion.
TJ jack!! Off MLB LH reliever.
And that was an offspeed first pitch! Even more impressive.
Honestly the high 90 on top of the zone was more impressive to me, but then again watching so many of our young dudes struggle with breaking pitches.
I gotta believe that "maybe" Haines told him to sit on first pitch offspeed after he took that FB deep. Somebody guessed right, or was it just really good reaction by Termarr?
Ohh to have Mattingly helping as a hitting coach.
We have Haines.

Yes, the concern is how those results might relate to the approach they're teaching.
The minor things I'll be paying attention to are things like Nicky G still looking like he's never seen a curveball, and now that I've seen it, what the hell is going on with Gorski's pre-swing left lift lol
Haines must think they have to reach rock bottom before building up.
Sergio! Nice piece of hitting thru the 3/4 hole.
9 K's to 0 BB's for Pirates hitters today. Guess you could say things are going, about as usually expected.
We dont want any of those free bases
Termarr BOMB
At least we finally got some offense
We saving all of our runs for the regular season
BOOM!!! Goes Temarr!!!!
Who had TJ hitting the first ST HR for the Bucs?
Just hit it big on my $250 bet 😁😁
Ducking for cover now for that lightning bolt that is sure to come out of the blue sky at me now…….
Beat me once on a fastball, twice on a fastball.....but not three times.
Where are those two (or is it 3) Sullivan’s fan?
Right here!!!!!
Loving the added velo, assuming it's here to stay. But unfortunately the command wasn't as pristine as it's been in the past.
Well, think I'll stick around for a Gorski AB.
