Seems like the camp roster is due for a trim.

Is it Opening Day yet?

For the cubs and dodgers it is.

Cimillo is a bit of a butcher at 1b…..I find him interesting, but I sure hope he could do more defensively than just stand at 1b.

He just has to stand there till Cutch retires, and we have our DH lol

Have I not been paying attention or did Paul Skenes just grow a beard over the weekend.

Bart, two solid at bats so far, first he worked a walk, 2nd a HR to right center.

Bart gives himself up on strike 3 allowing Griffin to steal the bag. That's why he should have gone before 2 strikes.

I felt he did that too!

Suwinski with two hard hit balls to left center, first was a sacrifice fly RBI in the first, second off the wall for a double. Rodriguez walked ahead of that double. Like WTM’s idea of Rodriguez leading off.

I am down with anyone but Pham. Unfortunately Shelton is already signaling he will be the OD lead off batter which is maddening.

Rodriguez might not even make the OD roster, so there’s that, but is a looooong season!

i've been in the camp of letting him adjust in Indy for a month or two from the year off but he sure looks ready this spring.

I would have preferred him in Indy to start, but since Littlefield has given the alternative as a 37-year-old washed-up below replacement level player, I have to hope that Suwinski starts in Pittsburgh and somehow, someway gets the bulk of the starts, even though we all know that John Russel will not sit a guy regularly who makes the kind of money that the Pirates are paying Pham until at least early July.

He had a good game today, saw the ball well, his triple was a hard hit line drive over the 1b, but it is ST so there’s that. His receiving looks behind, at least when it comes to pass ball.

Skenes command and high pitch count….hope is just a ST thing. My mind goes to thoughts of arsenal too big, perhaps missing Grandal, etc…to be fair, this is nitpicking the best pitcher the Pirates might ever have,,,

Weird....looked like Ryan was dominating pirates hitters with 4 swinging ks....but he's only had 5 whiffs? Skenes has 13 (thru 2.5)

Skenes 43 pitches in 2 innings. I don't know if he's ever going to be efficient with the pitch count, it's just not his game right now with a power arm.

79 thru 3.2 IP. Not the command he had last start.

I think last year he blew people away because he knew he could. This year he has a couple new pitches. I think (or hope) he is experimenting in these games. I am guessing we will see the real Skenes when the season starts.

At first I thought that watching the Skenes game was a no brained, but watching Bae, Rodriguez and Suwinski seems like a better option, even if Falter is struggling.

Bailey was removed in the 1st, but I’m sure it was a pitch count situation and will be back.
