Overview

Cabreja signed at age 19, so he wasn’t a prominent signing.  He apparently added some velocity, getting his fastball up to 93 mph.

2022-24

Cabreja served as a starter and reliever in his DSL debut.  He struggled through five appearances in June, with an ERA of 9.00.  In July and August it was 3.16.  He had good walk and K rates for the season. Nevertheless, the Pirates sent him back to the DSL in 2023. He had an even better season, with a 2.34 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. He didn’t have a high K rate, at 8.3 K/9.

In 2024, Cabreja pitched in relief in the FCL. He walked only four in 20.1 IP, but he allowed 29 hits. His ERA was 4.43.
