I send Ashcraft and Sullivan to AAA. My rotations would be:

AAA- Priester, Lauer, Ashcraft, Michael Plassmeyer/Dalton Jefferies piggyback, Sean Sullivan

Move Alldred back to long RP/multi inning RP. And why is German not getting any work in any FCL games or being used at all?

And I get they do a lot of work on the side at Bradenton but just release him if they don’t plan on trying to advance and move him up.

AA - Chandler, Solometo, Harrington, Hunter Barco, Po-Yu Chen.

Send Perachi back to Altoona but call up Deese, Cy Neilson and Bosnic.

High A - Patrick Reilly, J.P. Massey, Dotel, Alessandro Ercolani, Derek Diamond/

Dominic Perachi piggyback.

Call up Cotto, Stumbo and Mike Walsh(when healthy).

Low A - Carlson Reed, Khristian Curtis, Michael Kennedy, Carlos Jimenez, Hung-Leng Chang, Antwone Kelly

Stay with the 6 man rotation.

**There fixed!! No more bullpen games!! Not that difficult imo. And my AAA/AA rotations are even R/L/R/L/R alternated.

Replace Massey with Carlson Reed (who even him I'm not a big fan as a starter) and I'd buy into most of this by the end of the month.

And the reason I’m saying promote and not demote is b/c imo Pirates aren’t challenging these guys. And let another coach get their hands on some of these guys too.

Ashcraft is on the 40 man and that’s more than enough of a reason to promote him and him being in AAA.

Sullivan is 23 years old with plus command and this will be his second full season in AA. Time to move him up and challenge him.

I really think they are stalling these guys out.

And I haven’t heard anything about Scott Randall but he’s on the 7 day and maybe we see him around or after the AS break in Greensboro after a short rehab in the FCL and Bradenton??

He probably gets a chance to start too but I would imagine a strict innings limit coming off injury. He’s already 25 years old(turning 26 in August) and not expecting much but he has a SP profile.

And no word on Brennan Malone either. I don’t even know why I ask anymore. We probably don’t see him at all this season being on the 60 man. Such a shame!!

I've seen videos of him throwing bullpens. So it's in the works. Just no official timeline

When’s the DSL preview coming out?? I’m super interested to see and hope Mola is healthy this year.

I also think there will be some surprises from a couple other returners that had bad seasons last year but I think(hope) they will have big years this season.

I was really surprised Isaias Dipre wasn’t brought stateside to the complex. Same with Angel Camacho. And neither are two of my favorite guys from those two teams but both older prospects that have been plenty good in the DSL.

I think the season starts the 3rd or 4th of June, right? I really enjoy the previews for each level.

I'll have to double check. Then check with Wilbur. I try not to stress too much about the DSL, since all we get are stats most of the time, and I said it on the podcast we just recorded, I basically just throw those in the trash once they get stateside.

If we get some sort of official roster release, then we will probably do a preview, if nothing official comes out, or comes out the day the season starts and they have TWO teams, would be harder to fit in.

Murph, you need a story on Drake Fellows. He was on the Vandy team with Delay and was the Friday night starter. He got diagnosed with cancer right after his season (probably pitched in the SEC with cancer). two years removed, comes back and has TJ. terrible luck

Below average FS. Plus SL. Plus command. There is an occasional CH in there too but he’s definitely gonna have to be a FS, and SL heavy RP at the ML level(if he gets there).

In College a lot of times guys like him with plus command and fringe pro stuff are the “Ace” of the staff b/c 89-92 and plus command(definitely back then too) was plenty good enough for even a SEC Friday night SP. Although it was impressive that he won the Friday night job as a Freshman.

With that said, Kyle Wright was the star and better prospect on that 2017 Vandy team and Rocker in 2019. I believe Jake Eder was also apart of those teams and was even thought of as the better pitching prospect.

Hitting was really that Vandy’s teams calling card too. Bleday, Austin Martin, Jeren Kendall, Phil Clarke, some old Pirates draft picks/prospect too in Ethan Paul and Connor Kaiser. Those teams had a loaded offense that doesn’t get enough credit.

He’s on the older side now and I believe he’ll be a MiLB UFA after next season. Big dude though and you never know, maybe, now healthy the FS can tick up a bit but it’s mostly just 90-92 mph with below average spin and shape.

I’m glad to see him doing well, healthy and in AA though. I just wouldn’t expect him to be a SP at the ML level or even more than an up and down RP.

Again, you never though.

The Pirate Rotation has not been this strong since the playoff years. Keller, Jones, Perez, and Falter have all done well. Gonzales started well, but is injured and Priester and others have seen time in the Rotation. Adding Paul Skenes means that the Rotation could be set for at least the next few months. Throw in Mike Burrows coming back off TJ.

Keeping the 6 Man Rotation at AA for a few months should not have any negative effect. They can always go to a 5 man Rotation in July and keep that in place through the end of the season.

^this
