Overview
Originally from Cuba, Hernandez was probably one of the two most prominent pitchers in the Pirates’ 2025 international signing class. A projectable lefty, he’s reached 94 mph with his fastball, and he has the frame, arm speed and athleticism to add more velocity. He adds a curve and change. The Pirates project him as a starter.
