Overview
Thibo was 21 when he signed. He throws 94-96 mph and also throws a slider. Control has been an issue and he doesn’t miss a lot of bats. He’s been strictly a reliever as a pro.
2020-23
After losing his first pro season to the pandemic, Thibo started his career in the FCL. He mostly had a rough time, with opponents hitting 283/371/500 against him. In 2022, the Pirates moved him up to Bradenton anyway. He made a lot of progress, including a K/9 of 9.3, but he also walked 6.1 per nine innings. Left-handed hitters were a big problem, torching him for a .923 OPS.
In 2023, the Pirates sent Thibo back to Bradenton and he put up a 2.75 ERA in 14 games, with opponents batting only .149 against him. He moved up to Greensboro and made 23 appearances there, with a lot less success. His ERA there was 6.04. His walk and K rates were poor at both levels. Thibo was already 25 at mid-season.
